  1. Analyzing your website can give you many insights into what your customers like or don’t like. But sometimes it’s not enough. Wouldn’t it be better if you could just ask them and get straight answers from them?

  3. Mobile apps have become the bread and butter for many digital marketers. This is mostly credited to the fact that a quality mobile app has the potential to promote and grow your business tremendously. It can open new channels of revenue, introduce you to new marketing strategies (e.g. location tracking), give you the opportunity to provide more modern social media campaigns and of course, enable you to focus more on user experience. However, as the famous Rocky Balboa (yes, I’m a fan) puts it, ‘it ain’t all sunshines and rainbows’. Developing a successful mobile app can be a demanding task that requires a lot of thought and understanding of what the customer needs. So what better way to explore what the customer needs than to ask them directly? Customer feedback makes that all too simple.

  4. Many people have a misconception about accessibility: that it’s an “optional extra”—as if people with disabilities were not in the same crowd as the average user or learner.

  5. If you run your own business I know you do your best to please your customers, satisfy their needs, and eventually to keep them loyal to your brand. But how can you be sure that your efforts bring desired results? If you do not try to find out what your clients actually think about your service, you will never be able to give them the best customer experience. Their opinions about experience they have with your brand is helpful information that you can use to adjust your business to fit their needs more accurately.

  6. During the last couple of years, the popularity of online reviews has grown significantly. Reviews help people decide which products or services they should buy, where they should travel and even where they should eat. Over time reviews have slowly become an integral part of business on the internet.

  7. It’s become something of a trend for U.S. consumers to share their thoughts about the customer service they have received -- good and bad --through social media. That said, the NICE/BCG 2016 Consumer Experience Report shows that many consumers are starting to have doubts about whether or not social media platforms alone are a way for brands to address their issues.

  8. Time was when getting feedback from a customer was a process so complex, it was akin to getting blood out of a stone. Thankfully, we don’t live in those times.

  9. Bill Gates once famously said “Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning.”

While it’s a poignant quote, it doesn’t mean unhappy customers are your goal (there’s only so much positive spin Silicon Valley can put on failure). Prevention, as always, is the best medicine. With that in mind, here are 7 of the most common customer feedback nightmares Product Managers face and a few sharp strategies for avoiding them.
